this is my first project consisting of mostly worldedit brushes, i did some parts block-for-block (such as portions of the head, face, and shirt), however for the most part I used spheres and cylinders

That would definitely make things easier. I’ve used the wet sponge brush in Procreate to imply misty/smoky atmospheres a lot. This is another panel with particulate in it where I found myself in a similar dilemma and kind of split it down the middle between contour & brush.
