With his kind of approach you can align decal features to the terrain. Here, I'm drawing strokes either along or across the slope. This kinda thing would be really hard to achieve with a standard tiling textures approach.

The construction of the mall in the Azzukar desert has given lots of complications, main one being the workers being fattened by the huge amounts of sugar and calories present in the terrain of the desert. Dreelmon got affected by it already.
