This is no longer the case in their remakes, due to some Pokemon gaining evolutions after Generation 4, Such as Nosepass and Magneton.

I love Water Type Pokemon so much...I chose Blastoise & Blue ver played more over Red. Everyone hopped on Charizard & I choose Squirtle. Love them all but I prefer Venasaur now. I love Brendan/Ruby's design & just my life. So happy when I saw him evolve as a kid.
