my theory is that a big part of it is proportions. Too humanoid, it's not cat-like enough, it just looks like a reskinned Lucario. I changed proportions just a bit and I think it looks a lot better in my eyes

stayed pretty close to the original here bc ngl it looks cool as fuck the proportions were just not very good

did some more proportioning and can see that:
-The shoulders are too big
-The upper legs are too slim
-The head is still too big
-the chest front needs to be more spread out
-The waist skirt needs to be bigger

Okay, hear me out:

Because Bergmite is just a creature mostly encased in ice, what if Avalugg is the same way? But because of the cracks, and because it has barely higher HP, mainly gaining Defense, its body would still be smol, but with proportionally much more ice.
