I love seeing the gradual changes and improvements in Mashima's art style. The differences between how he draws Lucy in these images and the changes in his art style are subtle, but when you look closely and compare the older to the newer ones, they become more apparent.

There isn't much to quibble about it when it comes to semantics tbh, but to me, compared to "I love you," "I am in love with you" speaks more of sweet helplessness, of uncontrollably falling headlong into the feeling itself...and Nakyum speaking it is just so on brand 🤧
