I prefer letting the proportions go just a little bit when drawing like in the Vieira example. The limbs and their relation to the torso have more personality whereas the realistic proportions in the Ronaldo piece feel a bit restrained and less craic.

While I still have a ways to go on this one, I though y'all might find this process interesting. Check out how my natural inclination is definitely "anime" proportions. bigger eye space and smaller chin. it takes me awhile in pieces to be able to see these issues & correct them.

When I first started out with digital, my art was pretty terrible, definitely took a lot of struggles before it finally began to improve. :'D My proportions were all over the place. I keep old art like this around to remind myself that I've definitely improved, lol.

So again, depending on what ur going for, u may have to change the proportions of the feet altogether because to put it simply, an upright cat can not walk on real life paws anyway. So you'll have to redesign her foots.

A cartoonist who told him it's all about proportions and simply made the usually VERY ROTUND fat real life cat garfield upright with a smaller top and bigger bottom feet (see pic). This redesign was much more helpful in the long run for better gags and of course COSTUMES--

This is scaled to the largest known specimen of Deinonychus, MCZ 4371. It is not quite as large as a Jurassic Park raptor (partially thanks to proportion differences), but I have no doubt this thing could kill someone.
