The Vampire Squid is a small cephalopod that lives in the deep sea. It lacks certain characteristics to classify as a true squid or otcopus, sitting between the families. It has big bright blue eyes and a velvety cloak-like webbing that lends to its name.

NEUGLE

Fearsome water-horse from Scalloway. It had a green mane & weird wheel tail. Appearing saddled on the beach, tempting riders who'd be taken into the sea. Sometimes fatal... sometimes just for a good drenching.

They are found only in the Caspian Sea. Pups are usually born on the ice and cannot get into the water until they molt.

Recently, the by-catch of seals by illegal Sturgeon fisheries has been a major cause of mortality.
