Lesson learned: Always spend more time on a solid composition... It'd save a LOT of trouble going through this mess.

From then on I went to thumbnailing the composition. I've already thought about this a fair bit so I already know what kind of composition I want so I just blocked it in with some colors. Eventually ended up with a circular and sharp portal instead of a blocky stone hedge portal.

@JessFonk A visual novel that released this week about a cafe visited by ghosts. Everything's 3D modelled unlike a lot of VNs, allowing for some really nice shot composition.
