Filling in the general space of the background and figure to gain more focus on the subject. Gave the dress a blueish hue to contrast the skin while bridging that aqua green highlight cuz we're sick like that

Do you wish you knew how to paint from a photo? Sometimes, you want to paint but you’re not in front of a stunning view or a beautiful subject. https://t.co/R9h8NE6WUb

When you haven't drawn a caricature in ages, it's always nice to start with an easy subject...somebody who Frankie Boyle once described as "a cross between an unmade bed and a brain injury".

Trying a "line-less" style now, just to see if I like.

Using braixen as a test subject. :3

One thing I love about painting is the mark making - the brush strokes applied to the surface of the canvas.

I've taken some close ups so you can see all the layers involved to create form/depth in the subject.

Synthetic tether, red sigil located on both arms of subject. Adept with teleportation, connection points across distant space. Unstable, prone to meltdowns and void fatigue. Watch closely.

Headshot practise using my OC, Souma (modern ver.) as test subject. Getting myself used to linearting, colouring and using brushes in general.

I've been practicing with some colors, using Silkie as a test subject. Still a ways to go but I'm getting where I wanna be.

Hooo I like this related hashtag! of my "Rainy Sunset" rex portrait. :)
First I wanted to draw a simple portrait of a T.rex but I missed a nice background. So I changed the pose and I used the sky to gave emotion to my subject. :)

Start to Finish.
It's not often I share sketches nowadays. If younger me witnessed this timeline, they'd be crazed upon the glow-up from sketchbooks to colouring almost every subject.

I have the advantage, of not knowing too much about the subject. Facts are always a handicap in a philosophical debate.

Some experimenting with colored line art, using Cion as test subject.

(I couldn't decide whether to make his eyes blue or red, so I made them purple because blue+red=purple)

Go 'White'...
... set it on black. Endless possibilities in illustrating. Imaginative, figurative, cut from reality or just from a dream.
Here, to acquire shine effect around the subject. Used white&silver inkpens, as well as a fine touch of white charcoal.

This is a great example of two different artists take on the same subject. I really enjoyed coloring this piece, i learned alot about my lining process and coloring, still super flat tho lol!
Original concept and character by his work on left and mine on right.
