Oh, absolutely, Ragnarok is in my top 3 for Marvel, but also, my favorite Thor comic is so dark and dramatic it might as well be a Spawn issue, so I wouldn't say they did anything out of character. Especially since, well, comic characters change depending on who's writing them.
