another progress point for buildings! tints to make them feel more cohesive, more shadows, more specific tints in areas to add contrast lighting next

Look at me going out of my comfort zone and using colour and lighting. Insane.

I tend to use harsher lighting in pieces but generally if its lighter then I move the colour wheel slider upwards and if its darker then i move it down, only by a little, if you want to smoothen it then use a blend. experimenting with what suits you is usually the best way tho.

Hey Twitter, have a background wip, it's not the best but I'm proud regardless. Hopefully once I shade it, add lighting, and finish with the main piece it'll look more polished.

-drew this while I was at the beach today
-the lighting isn't the best on this one but whatever
-I decided to use the bg as a reference and make my own background
-[i think her legs aren't right-]

What I've noticed when I do backgrounds, I tend to base it off of either: the characters most prominent colour, or the lighting/palette
Like, if the character and the lighting is both warm I choose whatever it vaguely mirrors on the colour wheel for the bg
