The floor of the woodland is littered with discarded hazelnuts while up above the squirrels rush this way & that feeding themselves up for cold weather. The ancient coppiced Hazel woods provide five-star habitat for squirrels and hopefully dormice.

As I walked about the farm yesterday looking to see what was in bloom I was stoped by the sound of a bee in a Helleborus flower it’s good to just stand and listen and really connect with ones surroundings and thereby oneself

Today's postcard from Sunnyhill farm is a little Wren. One of my favorite birds, the world record is 61 wrens in the same nest box keeping warm. That's huddling!
