Post something related that makes you nostalgic for your earlier days of gaming

I'm really "nostalgic" of my AD&D 2e days but I do miss freely drawing characters, not feeling bad for how terrible they look haha... https://t.co/8SWqwXOSqx

One of the goals with Bhakashal is to patch up some of the long standing mechanical cracks in AD&D. One of those is thief skills. First, they are cruelly low to start, making them almost harmful to use, as they encourage thieves to try things that put them at great risk

Day 22: Magic!

It's Sturh Yung, my level 8 wizard from an AD&D2e game that's been running for almost 2 years (and currently on a break to play Stars Without Number), he wear shots because they're comfy and easy to wear. c:

Bhakashal builds on AD&D, leaning in to its intricacies to build a rich world. The 1e PHB has a curse spell that lists a few possible curses, Bhakashal lists 130 potential curses for inspiration.

Question for anyone familiar with iterations of D&D from 2e AD&D on backwards (I'm primarily interested in 1e AD&D responses, but I'm still happy to see others).

Does it state anywhere in the rules how spells that impact, say "24HD worth of foes" handle 0-levels?

One thing I really dig about tieflings in AD&D (they first appeared in the Planescape setting) is that no two are alike and, while ASSUMED to have lower-planar heritage, that is just a *stigma*. Check out all the fabulous options for unique tieflings in 2E

Blood of Amber finally delivers on a full on Wizard Duel, complete with an in depth description of the workings of Chaos magic that ends up sounding very much in line with Vance. No idea if Zelazny is channeling Dying Earth or AD&D here. But it works!

“Just finished ’s PATERNUS and I feel like I’ve been cornered in dark alley and pummelled with an hardback volume of AD&Ds Deities and Demigods. 5 stars.” (superb illustration by John Anthony Di Giovani)

oldschoolfrp:

“Umber hulks are subterranean predators, preying on young purple worms, anhkhegs, and similar monsters. Their favorite prey is humans.” (Erol Otus, AD&D Monster Cards Set 2, TSR, 1982) https://t.co/424TngYeAt

Tako

Dungeon

So, I’m starting aD&D campaign, and I was tempted to create a (air species). As usual I started with a drawing of him before everything else. This dude want to become an athlete and always push his bodies to its limit. i’m currently seeking a name that suit him...

Dragon189(1993)表紙

I wonder just how many official dragon books I have spread out over 6+ editions of D&D and AD&D? The 3.5e "Dragonomicon" was the best though

The Lost Caverns of Tsojcanth (S4) by Gary Gygax. This is the AD&D cover by Erol Otus & one of my favourite modules. How I would have loved to adventure into Iggwilvs lair with Melf.
To hear those stories would be great.

Just one of the multitude of fantastic artwork from of for the 5e Cthulhu Mythos. There is so much love put into this. It’s one of my favourite core books, up there with AD&D Unearthed Arcana.
