Also known as Forster's Caracara or "Johnny Rook" by the local population, the Striated Caracara is a bird of prey that can be found in very southern islands of South America (Tierra del Fuego around Cape Horn) and the Falkland Islands.
Paintings drawn by Nicholas Roerich on his trips to Karelia between 1913 and 1918. Roerich was keenly interested in Karelia and spent time learning about the culture and myths of Karelians, Finns and Samis.
