Hi My name is Colleen and I'm a K-7 teacher librarian in Surrey, BC. Popping in late and will be in and out between work stuff still and dinner! Busy night! Great topic and I need more recommendations on this one!

I can highly recommend this blend of family love, medical innovation, and one very smart pig!

Day 29 ~ I don't have the time to binge series anymore, as I'm always on the lookout for new books for my students. But when I was a kid, I binged them all the time, especially Narnia.

A8 My most recent reads are the super cool and fun LAST GAMER STANDING by and the luscious, magical YA fantasy, A MAGIC STEEPED IN POISON by (out in March 2022). Both are must reads!

At the risk of sounding repetitious, my two favorites are some I've mentioned in previous days. THE REMARKABLE JOURNEY OF COYOTE SUNRISE, by , and FIGHTING WORDS, by . These books had me crying and whooping for joy in equal measures.

Day 22 ~ It has such great visuals, I'd love to see Witch Hat Aterlier get a film! I think animation is the way to go for this one, since art is the source of magic. Don't ask me about casting, though!

I LOVE ART!! Here are just a few of my favorite covers, including my own (with incredible art by and ). These are all wonderful stories for those stormy autumn nights!

Day 20 ~ I always loved the cover for 's Front Desk, illustrated by —which is why my heart nearly stopped when I found out she was doing the cover for Spell Sweeper.

Check out the design process for Front Desk: https://t.co/lPxuGx1yiD

14 The very next book up on my TBR is 's GARLIC AND THE VAMPIRE, and I can't wait. I'm trying not to flip through it too much and spoiler myself but it is just so cool.

Day 12 Don't you love when an author includes a glossary? I learned a lot about sailing in this MG fav by .
Set in Oregon, the changing tides reminded me of hometown CHS.

Day 9: I loved STARFISH, by Lisa Fipps, and while it didn’t debuted several years ago, FRONT DESK is also a favorite! https://t.co/dFNzjXdwfz

Day 8: The magical item I want is from The Twelve by — the Coppice Comb! It causes trees to sprout around you, protecting you from danger. (But I want to point out that there are many amazing treasures in this book series.)

Day 6 of - I could not put down Show Me a Sign by . Historical fiction is not typically a favorite genre of mine but Mary's story and learning the history captivated me. I can't wait for my library hold of Set Me Free to come to my local branch!

A middle-grade book I couldn’t put down. Xan is a memorable character, and the prose is beautiful.

Ahh... I forgot the first days of Day 6: Share a book that you couldn't put down: WHILE I WAS AWAY, 's memoir of spending five months in 1980s Japan, immersed in Japanese school and dealing with new friends and a difficult grandmother.

Day 6 of I literally read STARFISH in one sitting. I didn't move, I didn't get up to use the bathroom, nothing. Couldn't put it down. I still can't believe that captured the very real experiences so many of us lived through so perfectly.
