What you're describing might be easier, something like this perhaps? I do like the idea of having the webbing on all the borders of the cover though. Having said that, this could probably be pulled tighter against the face.

I wanna clarify something I don't hate the idea of raised webbing I just don't think the Raimi or TASM films ones look good but! In my opinion this is the best way to do raised webbing and maybe the best way to do webbing in live action, PS4 Classic Suit is just near perfect. 🍡

Meet the Spider Pikmin! or The Arachmin!
They are able to climb up walls to surprise enemies and can create thin bridges out of webbing that only they can cross. They’re great for transporting lots of small objects (spray berries, bridge pieces, etc)

Something I’ve always wondered, and they probably talked about it in the comics, but how come Peter didn’t get organic webbing? Like, he got the enhanced strength, wall-crawling, the spider-sense, but he didn’t get the most essential ability of a spider.
