This is the point at which Caroline of Brunswick would have been crowned queen, had King George agreed. Instead, she is at home after being refused entry to Westminster Abbey and Westminster Hall at breakfast-time, on the orders of the king and the government.

in 1821 was the coronation of George IV and the last coronation banquet. The King along with others involved in the coronation processed from Westminster Hall to Westminster Abbey for the ceremony. Later processing back to the Hall for the banquet afterwards.

This is a first picture as Queen Caroline tried to enter Westminster Abbey during several unsuccessful attempts to become part of the coronation this morning. The queen is said to have laughed when a door-keeper insisted on her providing a ticket to enter Westminster Hall.

238/365 "Westminster Shadows" from my 365 Project

With light washes of paint, I capture this bright Westminster evening scene. I focus on the strong shadows cast by the low sun, helping to portray the atmosphere.

Good morning friends.
The media is full of the Health Secretary’s misdemeanours in full colour and video too. He should have resigned immediately.
The trouble with this Westminster government is that they are all from the same mould….liars and cheats from the leader downwards.

‘Westminster Abbey’, 36”x32” silver gelatin cameraless 4 panel print. Unique.

Living in a rural location helps when it comes to recording sensations that occur when I visit large populated locations - it’s part dazzlement, part shock.

In this view towards Big Ben, the sun emits an inviting glow. I worked in watercolours on rough paper - great for colour washes and creating a textured effect.
