The outfits worn in Pokémon Legends are remeniscent of Ainu patterns and clothing. You can see similarities in the straw footwear, and also the patterns found on the sleeves and breast. The scarves are a more modern take on the need for warm clothing in the frozen north.

In Sinnoh, it's not just locations that are symbolic, but also the Pokémon you can encounter. For example, you can find Octillery on Sinnoh's coast because of Atkorkamui (アッコㇿカムイ), a giant red octopus kamui that is believed by the Ainu to reside in Hokkaido’s Uchiura Bay.
