The first image is regional (showing the various biomes), and the second is territorial (cities and territories).

personally i would make the end multilayered with islands being above and below you, and a big emphasis on vertical travel and stuff to help you navigate it like a platform mob or bouncy blocks

perhaps even new ways to exploration in certain biomes like roadways kinda like these
