finished trudging through HIS DARK MATERIALS - what a dreary 8 hours. Inexcusable reliance on MacGuffins. Most remarkable thing was that Ariyon Bakare has same voice as Anthony Head! My dæmon Mr Barnum presented me with his Lorek Byrnison action figure to cheer me up.
