2002 -> 2013 -> 2022
One baby step at a time I've been pushing myself to keep learning new things, practising fundamentals, and exploring new techniques. It takes time but it's deeply rewarding to see yourself grow and accomplish things you never thought possible!

Thank you for the artshare! 💛
For 2023, I wish to develop solid art fundamentals, I want to get better especially at anatomy, perspective, and painting in general, and I want to learn to paint architectural elements.
Also I'm planning to open comms very soon. 💛

Many moons ago I worked with Paolo Pantalena on Jirni for Aspen Comics. I really enjoyed coloring this series. Peter Steigerwald taught me a lot during this period in not only learning the Aspen house style but also about the fundamentals of working the warms & cools. Good times!

1 year progress

I'm a little embarrassed to see my old art, but I can see how important practice and working on fundamentals has helped me improve. I still have ways to go, but I'm proud of myself

Do people really think drawing is just combining images in your head and drawing it on paper? First you need the actual skill to draw what you imagine your head on paper, and that takes practice and learning the fundamentals. Something AI doesn’t do, just look at these hands.

January, April, June, November.
June was the first time when I let myself really dive into it, work on a piece sparing absolutely no effort, and let my love for baroque art take over.
For the next year I wish to achieve solid art fundamentals, and I'm planning to open comms. 💛

I have to admit, even the raw stuff is very impressive.

Generic sometimes, but still can be a good base for painters with good fundamentals.

The commercial market will shrink by 95% in less than a year though, brace yourselves 💀

one of my favorite artists that emphasize the importance of form and how the other fundamentals should reflect it is yoji shinkawa

Today's artist of the day is !!! They have a very fun style that is extremely unique, yet still feels very modern! They also show off very impressive lighting! The shading isn't just beautiful, but also amazingly accurate to lighting fundamentals!

Pls follow this artist!

I got too ambitious and need to work on my art fundamentals.

Some replies are very hard to read :c
This is one of the most basic fundamentals. Maybe this should be paraphrased in a way for beginners to easier understand the situation here.
Considering a hierarchy does not automatically mean the absence of details. It's a tonal structure

Day 24: Thanksgiving
Worked on fundamentals with a skeleton, then a rough sketch, and then a better sketch of someone being thankful for Thanksgiving.

Here is cyborg from 2035 proving that and will still be here. Please join and community to know why building on solid fundamentals and in silence is the key of success, and getting rich overnight is a scam.

Thanks Krekk. I draw... kinda a lot of whatever I just feel like. I experiment a lot and am sort of at the beginning of my journey past fundamentals.

If anyone's interested, by all means, follow along. If nothing else, the amount of weird shit I try shouldn't be boring?

I slowed down a bit this year to re-learn the fundamentals and I think it’s paying off!

Hi
I'm an artist and designer - I've worked with landscapes and figure drawing. I make digital works with geometric fundamentals. I'm journeying through and building on what I've made as I go along. I like to make playful works, occasionally with narrative.
