We’re not going for the sympathy vote, honest, but we’ll just point out that it was our pumpkin-sculptor’s first ever effort. Source material came from MacEwen’s Head sections, 1893, Hirschfeld’s Nevrologie, 1853, and Valverde’s Anatomia, 1560. #RCPUnderTheSkin #RCNPumpkinComp

have you ever written a scene so touching or sad that you made yourself cry? And then you're like "WHY DID I DO THAT TO MYSELF?!" before proceeding to write another one.
amirite folks?
( what do you mean your inner writer isn't a Hirschfeldian goon with a mortarboard? liar. )

Love the look of this guy. It came from flipping through an Al Hirschfeld book of mine and working from his illustration of Lee J. Cobb and a few other guys.
Aside from the great orange hate-goblin himself, ‘Don’t Do That, Donald!’ was inspired by many of my favourite classic cartoons - Dr Seuss’s Gerald McBoing Boing and Disney’s Al Hirschfeld sequence in Fantasia 2000 are just two of them . . .

Caricatures by Al Hirschfeld.
The art of caricature means more than just lazily manipulating photos, a common practice these says. It’s about capturing someone’s ESSENCE—so that the caricature resembles the person better than their own actual face.
After a short hiatus, we're back with a new Hirschfeld Century podcast on Al's nearly 60 year relationship with @CBS. It covers both radio & television and there are some good stories included https://t.co/xYt8rSY1eD
Today’s #SportsArtSaturday artist is Anika Orrock @Anikadrawls.
With a style reminiscent of Al Hirschfeld, Anika is equally adept at portraying baseball players and baseball fans, always with an eye to the beauty of the lighter side of the game.
