Owls featured a lot in the work of Inuit artist Kenojuak Ashevak.
When asked what owls meant or represented to her she stated 'that the owl did not have any particular significance for her, but that every time she sat down to draw, an owl always seemed to come' #OwlishMonday 1/2

Depictions of Nyx, goddess of Night in Greek myth, often include owls. Nyx & Erebus (Darkness) gave birth to Aether (Brightness) & Hemera (Day). #MythologyMonday #OwlishMonday
Some one came knocking
At my wee, small door; ...
But nought there was a-stirring
In the still dark night;
Only the busy beetle
Tap-tapping in the wall,
Only from the forest
The screech-owl’s call ...

In the 19th century ornaments on Christmas trees were said to represent wishes. Owls are symbolic of wisdom and, in Celtic lore, the power of prophesy-- useful wishes! #GothicAdvent #OwlishMonday

I came across this hybrid hare-owl image a few months ago; supposedly by Albrecht Dürer
However, it appears to be a collage made up of Dürer’s Little Owl from 1508 and his Young Hare (‘Feldhase’) from 1502.
I am not sure who came up with this collage image #OwlishMonday
