And while a healthy source of "he said" or "he looked at" reads almost as punctuation, a bit of stylistic variety can be refreshing. Same for the word list publication that lists all the COLOURS by category. I find the cheatsheets are great printables to keep on my writing desk.

That looks like a slip. Just look at a DC comic and a Marvel of about the same time. Its not just hyphens. Marvel is nuts with semicolons and exclamation points. It is even "Kang, The Conqueror".
