1665 is the year that Gerard de Lairesse (Luik) arrives in Amsterdam. Shortly after thet he visits Rembrandt in his Rembrandt paints his portrait in coarse brushstrokes, in which the affected face of De Lairesse (syfilis)has not been made more beautiful than it is.
