yea it's basically like I do my sketch, then I block in colours just enough so that I can start rendering.

Sometimes I start with a face and then render the rest of that corner and then just move from there corner by corner

I'm still quite fond of this style but there's no doubt it often loses something from the sketch. The main benefit is it's much quicker than fully rendering. This helps me keep up with posting a colour illustration each week and offer a cheaper alternative to my rendered work.
