I know exactly how you feel about gimmicks. You gotta balance what sounds fun to you and what people might get into. It's very passion-driven.

As for an intro/outro, I would recommend a bit of video editing. That's what I did for an outro. Intro is just a simple 'starting soon'

Working on the new PokeBeach logo when I found the one I made in 2001. I created it using Microsoft Word art. XD I remember laying on my parent's bed editing it and then backing it up to a floppy on my Gateway laptop. I think a version of it was used on the site till 2005. i old.
