Não sei é certo isso, mas é como eu gosto mais de fazer xD
1º jogo uma cor sólida, depois faço em outra camada luzes e em outra, sombras.
Depois pinto com as cores que quero e dai coloco as camadas de luz/sombra em "overlay/sobrepor" ou algum outro efeitinho que fique legal. :)

Hola!! Uso el modo Overlay con un color rojo o naranja. Normalmente ajusto la opacidad entre 20 y 30 pero varía mucho. Y pa que se vea más cálido aplico un hack que aprendí hace un buen que es poner naranja en la parte de la cara jaja. Espero y te sirva :0!
