This still life painting by Giovanni Battista Ruoppolo, from our Naples collection is one of a pair that was designed to be hung over interior doors. The landscape in the background is a typical Neapolitan invention. Can you spot Mount Vesuvius?

Carl Larsson's c1890 oil nude Model writing cards, studio scene, is atypical of his in not recording arts-rich family life, but beautiflly depicts Swedish temperament and decor, Love it! My WCs family life:

9. Weirdest OC

Fumio Ueda, probably. Not the typical kind of character I make personality-wise but I love him still. He can see/hear/speak to ghosts and lives in a house full of yokai and spirits. He is accidentally nonchalantly disturbing.

Toriyama's Monster Design of Khese Dragon for "Dragon Quest" (1986/05/27)

Straying away from appearing like typical high fantasy dragons, he illustrates one with vibrant orange dorsal fins & a bright blue frame. It's arbitrary in retrospect but it calls forth some mysticism, no?

Sealing Mermay with something a little different I typically veer away from “high fantasy” renditions of mythical creatures. But figured why not. This is a semi faithful rendition of a Medieval depiction of mermaids/sirens.

We typically assume that animals try to avoid low oxygen levels. Yet, new research exploring frog dormancy has found that some actively seek out microhabitats with lower levels of oxygen for a better chance of survival.   https://t.co/78v1B1OgDR

My one and only piece for eeyyyyyyy
here's an ice mermaid watching the northern lights~I liked the idea of an ice mermaid up north with blue/cold skin since mermaids are typically shown in a warmer climate.

I use my character Dawn as my icon. She's much more calm and introverted than myself, your typical bookworm tea lover gal. I'm introverted but still bubbly and cheerful. When representing me I tend to draw her a tad more excited.

What better way than to procrastinate than by making Picrew reps of my two Guardian ladies in (yes Zetian is yelling at Xiao Fu as usual in typical fashion 😂)

I had 5 options and I hate them all. I'm actually surprised I can't name another Ashley in animation

I always found Disney's recess to be stereotypically unoriginal. I always preferred the Weekenders

Me vs a fictional character of the same name https://t.co/ZEsTitD6Bp
