I don't know if there's a literal character form evolution like in Slime Isekai or just an eventual agreed upon artstyle mandate, but I think the the circular eyes from the manga are cuter than the more standard anime eyes in the light novel/anime.

Yeah. The Cycling and Fencing events needs you to do a smooth circular motion of the joystick, which is just impossible to do with the keyboard. The Judo game, Uchi Mata is similarly tricky without a stick. I'm lucky in that I never got rid of the old C64/Amiga joysticks. 👍
