@DrunkDuck #quackchat Q2 I really like converging storylines, and plots that slowly reveal themselves. "Giant Robo" was a big influence for me, as its story is misleading, and full of unreliable narrators, with the real story only fully revealing itself in the final episode.

Contrary to what you (or even she) might believe, Hazel was actually a scientist in her dimension who wound up discovering dimensional travel through an accident. Now, she has a hard time remembering things from her pre-ship life and isn't always the best narrator in that regard.

In the manga, the narrator sets the scene to the Lon Beruk flashback by labeling it as 90 years ago in Vearn’s 7th palace. In the anime Myst-Vearn says this instead, with 90 years becoming “nearly a century ago”.

From the perspective of the protagonist (an unreliable narrator), Madoka is basically a super-cool dream girl who is perfect in every way. It comes across effortlessly in the animation, but might be a difficult task to portray for live-action(though it has been done before).
