@DaquiAPouquin sure, but as I said - I think new Digimon still deliberately utilize those classic design motifs (the veins, scars, belts, tattered cloth).
Certainly, I see more in common than comparing Gen 1 to Gen 8 Pokemon.
@DaquiAPouquin my hypothesis is that Digimon has been more consistent with sticking to the design motifs it established early on, which is why modern Digimon still "look like Digimon".
of course, it helps that the definition of "what is a Digimon" is more broad than a Pokemon.

Decided to do a new series of Dead By Daylight / Horror characters as Pokemon. First up is Ghost Face as Duskull; it really likes scary movies

However from a narrative perspective it feels less like you're using Pokemon's skill's to their best and more that you just have one super special super Pokemon. Same thing happened in ORAS where you are GIVEN latias/latios and only they had access to a special version of fly.

@guackamoli_ Hey ollie :) haven't been drawing much in general lately but I've been rting a lot of tv series content with the odd bit of crimeboys or tommy in general, also pokemon. Examples of some shows would be ofmd, cartoon network stuff, kipo, infinity train, TUA, cartoons in general.
