The point is appealing character design. The question of why would they use simplicity in their design. It's not just because its easier to animate (which it is, allowing more movement) it also expresses character effectively and in an appealing way.

I like the hair of the Aigis model that they used in P3D since it is very simplified, and it's easier to draw too

Fun(?) Fact!

When accessibility image descriptions are on, I've added additional narration to make it easier to determine who is speaking. When image descriptions are off, these will not show.

In addition, certain scenarios are written/described differently.

Model sheets are created to show a character in its final form so the animators can understand the character to be able to animate it. Some of the model sheets are from the Kenner design team. Others are from the animation team with refining to make them easier to animate.
