リサールが処刑されたマニラ湾を見渡す地は現在リサール公園。

リサールは1888年に来日し約1ヶ月滞在。
日比谷公園にはリサール記念像があります。

Beep beep. It's the birthday of David Alfaro Siqueiros (1896-1974) the fog horn of the the Mexican revolution. His murals make you feel as if you're standing in a wind tunnel. They're a bit loud for me. Then again, no one ever overthrew a right wing government by being sensitive.

スーザの最高傑作「星条旗よ永遠なれ」はクリスマスに作曲された作品。正確には1896年11月アメリカへ帰国する船上にてインスピレーションを受け、ピアノ譜が完成したのが12月25日。そして翌年4月26日にバンド譜が完成し、5月14日公式初演されたとのこと。

Rudolph Nissen (1896–1981) performed the first gastric fundoplication in 1955 and published the results of two cases in a 1956. He originally called the surgery "gastroplication". The procedure has borne his name since it gained popularity in the 1970s.
