I've been drawing since I could hold a pencil but my first attempt at comics was a 50-page affair I drew over 3 months when I was 15, and sold at school for charity. Its writing, pacing, and art is laughably bad now, but I miss that prolific streak.

Hiya. Most clothes from charity. Weekly meals planned and shopped for. Savings put aside each month to cover kids' school trips etc. Coming from a well-off and supportive background is probably the only reason I can do this (although illustration fees are starting to improve)
