I had no fucking clue what I was doing tonight but this is how a fun headshot of Joy ended up. Basically, I decided to make like 17 layers of overlay layers for shading her hair with the short hair brush in ProCreate, and did the same thing for her face and horns.

Layer modes (esp overlay) can mess with your pic's contrast balance, & change perceived color as a result.

(Also: I didn't lighten the lines in 2/3 to match hair closer. This can throw off perceived colors too, but many art styles use much darker lines.)
