I like using traditional watercolors/pencils as backgrounds/objects and digital character drawings layered in. Its taken me years to get a balance that I'm happy with, but its all practice and going out of your comfort zone little by little at a time.

The cover to Sonic the Hedgehog 288 is based of the artwork from Sonic the Screensaver. Judging by Sonic's eyes, the airbrush style used on certain objects and the clouds/sky in the background, this cover art was a tribute to said game's artwork.
