@sayomgwtf @ramon_wilhelm @GrantYeager The MI1 cannibal sprites were likely done very early - they have straight-on side sprites like LOOM rather than 3/4 views like later games.
In the EGA version their outfit highlights match their mask colors, a neat detail the more naturalistic VGA version had to drop.

Phil Noto is an Artist, who creates images reminiscent of the 60s and is indeed very cool. I like his style, because, like many of my favourites, it stands out and is immediately recognizable. His work is well worth a look.
