One of my old street sketches from the early '90s. This shows St Edward's Passage, Cambridge, one of several favourite places to paint. David's the venerable bookshop now only has a shop on the other side of the churchyard and the Arts Theatre restaurant lost all its quirkyness.

Wouldn't it be sick if Kamikaze Douga (the team behind the CG openings for JJBA) did a whole movie in that style for Part 1? It's short enough to fit, and would honestly benefit from a bit of fat-trimming.

Plus, it'd come full circle with the lost Phantom Blood movie from 2007.

The mangas of both Beastars and Chainsaw Man have very distinct sketchy, gesturally style. this quality is lost in their anime adaptations. While Mob Psycho maintains it's rough look, while still being on model. For Beastars and CM, you are losing that expressiveness.

Anime like Bleach basically have a one to one adaptation. Mob Psycho is the same style, just more polished. Same with OPM. The AoT manga's artwork was shit, so improving and changing the style is additive, nothing was lost.

Some anime adapt the art style near one to one, like Bleach. Or they enhance the original art style like in Mob Psycho. The style is the same, but more polished. In the case of AoT, the manga's artwork was shit, so the anime straight up improves it, nothing is technically lost.
