On a related note, my paper https://t.co/9gCmleKnzY explores a similar idea using human mesh template as generative 3d algorithm. It is more high resolution and smooth, but less abstract and general than your approach.

Getting the earfluff right was so hard 😭 Am I doing it right ? It uses that new feature you were hyping in chat, the offset hair basket thingy. I warped the mesh and offset it until it purely encapsulated one ear, then I rotated it and adjusted it some more.

Why does everyone keep using Chum Chum on Music Block with Super Mario World? None of these mesh together to make a good level.

Made Wallace just SLIGHTLY cross eyed, so he looks less dead, especially looking into the camera.

This meant rotating the eye mesh and starting the whole Unity converting process again. Was that worth it? Yeah, absolutely 👀

Watching TAS and the more I watch this the more I wish there was some type of crossover between them and The fact that Ron Wasserman did soundtracks for both would make them mesh well perfectly UGH😭

If you prefer your 2D paint program when fixing visible UV seams consider duplicating the mesh and creating a new UV map (UV2) that doesn't share edges with UV1. Bake texture 1 (T1) using UV1 into a new texture (T2) using UV2. Next, fix the seams and bake T2 back into T1.

I think it’s that coupled with how cartoony the models are since they were designed after the game’s 2D artwork. Seeing them mesh together would make that distinction impossible to ignore for anyone.
