The process of doing the under painting on a digital model is interesting. Red for blood flow, blue for crevices, yellow for boney/cartilage areas… then overlay your skin tone in light layers until it’s where you want. This gives you nice tonal variety.

@simblimb i honestly didnt really even have the time to make this bc of exams but here, i stayed up all night to make it! time taken: 16 hours, 31 minutes. layers: 52! (unfiltered, filtered, unfiltered with hair highlights and filtered with hair highlights.)

This was made in three layers and if you look closely there’s hints of green to make the red color pop. Things have more color than you’d think.
