Well actually because its two different artists and vastly different styles, I was going to get a new one done for my own image as part of a re-branding. But art is not cheap and I have 16 character commissions in a month, with custom overlays too.

I don't know if it helps, but I made the whole drawing in grayscale first, marking out the shadows in grayscale as well, so i wasn't focusing on the colours at first, then i went in after i was happy with the shadow shapes and coloured them in! (I also used a colour overlay)
