The Wasgo is a creature from Haida folklore, describing a “sea wolf”. Said to live off the shores of British Colombia & Hecate Strait, it’s said that a young man used sea creature skin to deceive fish while night fishing. A pair of whales turned him into the Wasgo in retaliation.

At the conclusion of Yule, in the new year, folks shared a toast of Wassail. In England (and at my house) this form of mulled wine was also served in other places in various forms. Scots call it "hot pint" and it is used in a toast to prosperity.
