“Now shift the scene to moonlight glade,
Where dapper elves beneath the shade
Of oak or elm, their revels keep,
What time we plodding mortals sleep.” - from ‘The Spirit of the Woods’, author unknown.

I'm Finn! I draw fantasy/dnd type character designs and scenes. My work is heavily inspired by folklore/mythology. Journey to the West & KFP are big sources of inspiration for me. Pinks and greens are my go to colors. Oni teeth are my fav to draw

On an island in Japan, deer and humans live together side by side. Miyajima is home to more than a thousand Sika deer — and they're really friendly. According to local folklore, the deer in Miyajima (also known as Itsukushima) were considered sacred messengers from the gods.#JOjO

In Cornwall, snails were sometimes called “bullhorns;” if a miner met one on their way to work they would drop a bit of their dinner or some oil from their lantern before it for good-luck 🐌

Boo!

Too excited to keep it in! Check out my Halloween costume! It's my favorite Japanese folklore monster: the Yuki-onna! Gotta take the chance to relax every once in a while!

This is an 1899 double-exposed photo (so say the experts) that allowed this ghostly image. I think "spiritography" from the 19c and early 20c are fabulous. Happy Halloween early - this puts my in the spirit!

Norse mythology tells of Skinfaxi (Shining Mane) & Hrímfaxi (Frost Mane) who are the horses of day & night. They meet but twice a day, at dawn and dusk. Skinfaxi pulls day’s chariot across the sky, his mane bringing light. Hrímfaxi brings the darkness of night.
