Instead let's look at just how tight the restrictions are. You can see if the player is above where they need to be, there are too many sprites on a scanline and we start losing some. In an early build I had one too many sprites on the feet and I lost a sprite.

Not only that. But Dave's portrait sprites are also weird. His eyes are blacked out as well but. They are front facing? And a few of them show an eye. I don't think these are the right sprites either. Weird.

finished a bunch of little things like doors and windows and did the last dragon frames (lol) and just animated the flowers for the flower sprites :-) (not sure if i'll shade them or not, I quite like the flat colours makes them feel a little magic in a quirky playful way)

no one has to color pick the sprites or anything - but seeing drawings with them all the same pale skin tone sucks
