today's #Mermay prompt was "Celebrity", so i wanted to depict an abstract portrayal of how it distances us and blurs our humanity when we put each other up on pedestals instead of just seeing people as people 💚

I present to you
Gideon Ravenor, depicted circa Penitent, of the Eisenhorn vs Ravenor trilogy
@oddcr0w Here's Aztec restoration #8.5 on #hicetnunc! A hand embroidered detail from the aztec Codex Borgia. Depicting the Goddess Xochiquetzal in an eagle headdress. Took about 20 hours to create this one! (had to learn embroidery!)

@akaniphotograph @hicetnunc2000 Aztec restoration #2.5 might be up your alley! This is a detail from plate 11 of the 16th century aztec Codex Borgia, depicting a rabbit being consumed by a feathered serpent.

Hockney’s depiction of hands vs Picasso’s portrait of Stravinsky. Stravinsky said Picasso’s observational skills were so acute that Picasso was able to pick up and depict his Asian eyes. He had mongol ancestors.
@TheActuaristFEH I was also very sad because I thought that Lyon would be saved in the end 😔 But in FEH, I was impressed to see the sane Lyon and Ephraim fighting together, which was not depicted in the original story 😄
@MDixken How bout Aztec restoration #8.5! I hand embroidered this detail from the aztec Codex Borgia depicting Xochiquetzal, Goddess of sexuality, pregnancy & traditional handicrafts! The original panel is below for comparison, I had so much fun with this one!

3) Death Of The Endless
The Sandman/DC Comics
What can I say? She's an interesting depiction of the anthropomorphic petsonification of the abstract concept of death and she's very epic in her own right.
Also goth.
Goth is a plus
@sugargrasss The left one is a 2020 redesign of one of my first "real" OCs, Avery Atherus
And the right one two is a redraw of that same character + one of my more recent OCs depicted in a music video's style

@je_somerton My only fear is that movies don't have the..... best track record when trying to depict ancient gods and mythology... (I know, 300 was FINE, but the other ones....) I'm not sure I want to see a Hercules live action 🥲
@nft_bird I’m restoring and reinterpreting panels from sacred Aztec manuscripts! Here’s the latest, #8.5, depicting a hand embroidered goddess Xochiquetzal in eagle headdress and elaborate nose piercing. (Original panel below!)

The oving truck rental company U-haul does a very fun thing where they have giant graphics on their trucks with facts about each US state / Canadian province. Many highlight geology and fossils, and then for Vermont, there's Champ. Any thoughts on their depiction of it, @TetZoo?
@crowns_dev Yeah, but the main problem that led to this however is the lack of clarity in the puzzle pieces (largely because of the gaps between them), cause these genuinely do look like what's depicted in the building, but it is apparently not the case, as this wasn't the solution.
