That's where we'll end for now. This is a fast moving field and many relevant new studies have appeared since #AncientSeaReptiles went to print - I'll discuss the new discoveries in another thread! Buy Ancient Sea Reptiles today, thanks to those who've done so already :) #books
@SkyeMcDavid Don't worry, Alan is just a story they made up to scare us. He's all like "Yeah, birds are dinosaurs huh? Well -- what about err Kevin Padian's bipedal pterosaurs from 1984! D'ya think of THAT?"
My @PrincetonUPress book #Dinopedia is currently rated 4.7 out of 5 on a certain website. It's a discussion on 'how we got to where we are now' with respect to our view of #dinosaurs. It's compact and extremely affordable https://t.co/g5lsJt5fbn
Your reminder that the #PrehistoricPlanet team collected and kept -all the fanart-
Among my favourite animals are #ICHTHYOSAURS - the 'fish lizards' - and it's always a joy to look at their fossils (we have many of them in the UK). So I _loved_ compiling current thinking on them for my new book Ancient Sea Reptiles, out now from @NHM_London and @SmithsonianBook
At Foyles today, saw more of the Princeton Uni Press pedia books together than I have before, and I purchased Birdpedia. They didn't have #Dinopedia though, I wonder if that's because it sells out too fast.
My new book - Ancient Sea Reptiles - is out. It's a beautifully illustrated, comprehensive review of the ancient sea #reptiles of the #Triassic #Jurassic and #Cretaceous, and here's a discussion of what it includes... https://t.co/FJ5jm5ckCw #books #zoology #fossils #evolution
The main chapters cover ‘lesser known’ marine reptile groups, then the geologically longer-lived #ichthyosaurs, the diverse and often long-necked #plesiosaurs, those phenomenal giant lizards the #mosasaurs and, finally, the sea #turtles... (images by Brian Choo)
@ArminReindl @FabioAleRomero Are you sure you mean DK books? I mean, DK have made major improvements this century: they ditched the 1990s stuff and replaced it with higher quality, more accurate imagery.
