I think even in some concept art they had brighter colors before most got muted in the final stages of the film

Shockwave being a good example, his purple is way more muted in the film but the toys and promotional images you can better see his colors.

Production work is still slow for me but I'm still tracking a long. I decided that Coatl should come in two different colors. Blue Green for Purgatory or even when commuting folks to Heaven. Red for Hell. That way I can keep traditional tram and Q-Coatl colors.
