ehh i'm not good at posing either, but to make more dynamic poses, i tend to make a curve representing the spine, not obliged to follow it completely tho
also i tend not to make the hips and the shoulder axis parallel, or it can make the pose feel too stiff

Somewhat, in hinesight i would of given him his medium cut as i think he looks much better in that. i also made his horns a little to curly, his eyes have a odd shape in one. And while my boy is tall and slim i dont draw his shoulder AS broad anymore.
