I’m glad you noticed, the eyes of Emegoji are my favorite aspect of that design. The color scheme is based on dvd art from the series, and I was also inspired by sharptooth and 2019 Godzilla for his overall profile with the lean body type of Emegoji. The illustrators did good!

I actually sort of predicted the color scheme for Splatoon 3. All of the main two colors from the first two games were opposite colors on the color wheel. Blue is the opposite of orange, green is the opposite of red (pink) and violet is the opposite of yellow

I didn't grow up with an N64 but I love the Paper Mario games. I wouldn't blame anyone for thinking Hacim from was inspired by the sun in Chapter 6, but this is the first time I'm ever seeing this character.
